Getting Started

Update the information about your songs: How can I show song genre and the album name?

  1. Login
  2. On the left side, click on Modify Songs and choose the song you want to update.
  3. You'll want to update everything on this screen.
  4. When done, click Modify Songs and the information will be saved

Post a picture of your band: Is the square box on the left side supposed to have a picture of my CD case? It's not showing anything in there. Am I supposed to do something about that?

  • Yes, upload an image for your band by doing the following:
  1. Login
  2. On the left side, click on Modify Artist
  3. You'll want to update everything on this screen. To display an artist image, go down to "Upload New Artist Image" and click on Browse. You'll want to find an image on your PC to use. We recommend a specific size (make it SQUARE!).
  4. When done, click the button at the bottom of the form (labeled MODIFY ARTIST)

How to Post a Picture with a SONG

You can specify the song image when you upload the song, but if you forgot or didn't have it ready, go back in and update it as follows:
  1. Login
  2. On the left side, click on MODIFY SONG
  3. Click the song name and then click the MODIFY SONG button
  4. You'll want to update everything on this screen - especially GENRE!

    To add a song image (like album cover art), scroll down to "Upload Song Image" and click on Browse. You'll want to find an image on your PC to use. We recommend a specific size (make it SQUARE for best results).
  5. When done, click the button at the bottom of the form (labeled MODIFY SONG)

Change the order of your songs: Would it be possible to change the order in which the songs are listed?

  • Yes, click on Arrange Songs. Then click on the song you want to move and click on Move Up or Move Down as desired. When done, click Change Order.

Question: Is song length the determining factor for the order in which they get listed?

  • No, you can order songs any way you wish. Choose ARRANGE SONGS from the left menu.

Promote my site to stations: Do I need to promote my site, or will radio stations that are registered with you be browsing all the time? Is there something I can do to encourage them to play my songs?



Question: My images don't look right or don't appear. What can I do?

Answer: If you uploaded a GIF image, try saving it as a JPG and uploading it that way.

ARTIST IMAGE should be SQUARE. Ideally: 300 x 300 pixels.
Make SONG IMAGES SQUARE. Ideally: 100 x 100 pixels.

Our servers will support displaying .GIF, .JPG, and .PNG files.

Note: Due to popular demand and desire to be more in line with industry standards, the Artist Image Size was changed from 300x255 to 300x300 on September 20, 2006.



 QUESTION: How Do I adjust the length of my song streams?

ANSWER:

  1. Click on MODIFY SONG in the left menu
  2. Choose the song you want to edit, then click the 'Modify Song' Button
  3. Scroll down to "LOFI Listener Access" and choose the length you want.
    If you want the listener to hear the entire song, choose "Streaming Only - Entire Song"

MORE INFO:

The AirPlay Direct system is now set by default to play part of each song when it is being listened to (also called streaming). You can set the stream length in any way you'd like. For example, if you want people to only hear the first 30, 60, or 90 seconds of a song, you can do that. You can also allow them to stream the entire song. If your song is being featured in your DPK, you may want to allow them to stream the entire song.


Question: Can I put an AirPlay Direct logo and link on my other websites?

Answer: Yes. All of our logos and banner ads can be found at http://www.airplaydirect.com/banners.html. If there is another size or shape that you need, please let us know and we'll see what we can do.

Question: Our band has changed. How do I update our bio?

Once you’re logged in to AirPlayDirect.com, you’ll see “Modify Artist” in the menu on the left of your site.
