Biography
Don Graham is a Canadian singer/songwriter, tried and tested in the music industry, both as a performer and songwriter.

The story has come full circle. In the late 1960’s, Don formed a trio called Country Fair that included guitarist Robbie MacNeill of Anne Murray and Singalong Jubilee fame. The band’s name was subsequently changed to Graham County and their first single, produced by Bill Hill (Producer of April Wine’s debut album) “Shelter In The Sky”, penned by Graham, was recorded at the legendary Andre Perry’s Studio, just after the remote of John Lennon’s “Give Peace A Chance” was recorded by Perry in a Montreal hotel room. This single was released on Gamma (London) Records in Canada and on Kapp/MCA in the U.S. and was a ‘pick hit’ in Cashbox Magazine.

MacNeill left the band and was replaced by Bill Hill (JB & the Playboys) on guitar, Eddy Kaye (Freedom North) drums and Ron Dann (Jesse Winchester, Ian Tyson) on steel guitar. This lineup toured extensively promoting their records and got tight working the popular bar scenes in Canada, where the long hours resulted in six sets a nights, six nights a week. Through the years band members have included: George Bowser (Bowser and Blue), Bobby Cohen (Tim Hardin) Les Leroux and JayBees drummer Dougie West and Paul Lifsches on bass guitar to name a few.

In 1975, Don released a single on Amber Records "If You Don't Like It”. Next for Don was producing Montreal trio PROOF for RCA Records. The result was "Love, A Bitta Memory" b/w "Old Town". Don continued to write and record, with a series of single releases, “Shelter In The Sky”, “Colorado”, “Rocky Road”, all charted and successful in their own right. Over the years, Don took a backstage position, producing and working with John Beland (The Flying Burrito Brothers) Hugo Straney (It’s About Time CD) and Scottish entrepreneur Harry MacGregor at Underground Sound Studio. Don also got in touch with his Scottish heritage, and wrote songs to pay tribute to his mother with “Pipes and the Mist” and “The Calling of the Clans” (McGregor co-write) and Crossing Borders. “Heart Of A Hero”, “Coming Home” and “Welcome Home” are new tunes that Graham has written in tribute to our Canadian troops.

Don Graham is proud to release his new CD “A Willing Heart”, a collection of 11 songs that form a tapestry of his life; good, bad, painful and hopeful. At the production helm is his musical mentor and guitarist for many years, Bill Hill. Andrew Hill, Bill’s son, carries on the tradition of his famous dad, showing his guitar skills in amazing fashion.

Don is excited to release this new CD for his friends and fans, and he hopes you will enjoy listening to them as much as he enjoyed writing and recording them for you.
