Terlingua Moon
TERLINGUA MOON
written by Doug Moreland, ASCAP (composer/author and publisher)

Baby why don’t we pack up and go
Just remember, we can’t afford Taos anymore
Yeah well I know a place we can just get away
Because this Austin city grows more every day

Oh, Terlingua moon
Shining through The Window like a dusty old room
And the Starlight’s got em dancing like a honky-tonk bar
Where they don’t care about your world, they don’t care about your war

We can pull up a seat on the porch of the Starlight
And get ready for the good Lord’s show
When the Chisos are lit by the setting sunlight
And there’s a full moon rising slow

Oh, Terlingua moon
Shining through The Window like a dusty old room
And the Starlight’s got em dancing like a honky-tonk bar
Where they don’t care about your world, they don’t care about your war

We can take the day and go down to the river
I know where the hot springs flow
We can ride the burros up to Boquillas
Where newlywed Gringos go

Oh, Terlingua moon
Shining through The Window like a dusty old room
And the Starlight’s got em dancing like a honky-tonk bar
Where they don’t care about your world, they don’t care about your war
Where they don’t care about your world, they don’t care about your wall
Oh, Terlingua moon
