Happy Hour
HAPPY HOUR
written by Doug Moreland, ASCAP (composer/author and publisher)

How far to the nearest bar
Little information please
Can I get there by five?
If I drive I won’t be able to leave
I’ll surrender to the rendering of an old bartender
In the end is he my friend or just another vendor?
One more round should turn this frown upside down
I’d feel better if I could forget her

I’ll say women turned me this way
I used to take my lemons and make lemonade
Since she set me free it all seems so sour
And it’s life, liberty and the pursuit of happy hour

How long have I been sitting here
Could someone tell me the time
Awe crap I’s afraid of that
You say beer’s no longer half price
Guess I’ll head to the house and drink by myself
Seems I left a six pack on the icebox shelf
And by the cooler I’ll set my stool where
I can make it easier to help myself

I’ll say women turned me this way
I used to take my lemons and make lemonade
Since she set me free it all seems so sour
And it’s life, liberty and the pursuit of happy hour

Tomorrow morning I’ll make my plans
Find a bar where the best drink specials are
You may think it’s pitiful but to tell you the truth
Tomorrow afternoon I could be sitting by you... and you... and that guy!

I’ll say women turned me this way
I used to take my lemons and make lemonade
Since she set me free it all seems so sour
And it’s life, liberty and the pursuit of happy hour
