...to carry on
To carry on
copyright 2007 T. James Hurley

Once the words were spoken they just lay there on the floor.
No more believing, no matter how she tried.
Promises, once broken, they’re never quite the same.
So she watched the dreams they shattered slowly die.
What more to say?
You somehow find a way to carry on.

He turned twenty-one in Babylon hoping that he would find,
a way back to the place where he belonged.
People came from miles around on Homecoming Day,
but they saw only what was left ‘cause he was long gone.
What more to say?
You somehow find a way to carry on.

Each and every one of us will see a day we cannot say
how much more we’re able to take.
But every time the bitter line is a little bit further on.
And somehow we find a way….to carry on.
