Dead End of the Dirt Road (2:58)
Words and Music ©2014 by Kenny Butterill (SOCAN/BMI) & Washboard Hank (SOCAN)

Verse 1
Got a place out in woods,
I’m one with nature, living is good.
It’s private and quiet as can be,
far away from the big city.

Chorus 1
Dead end of the dirt road,
is good enough for me.
Dead end of the dirt road,
is spelled “serenity.”

Verse 2
When I need money I head to town,
deal with the rat race running around.
Spend enough time to make some dough,
then it’s back to the end of the old dirt road.

Chorus 1

Verse 3
Grow my food in a garden plot,
jump in the pond when it gets too hot. Can hardly tell one day from the other, most of the time I don’t even bother.

Chorus 2
Dead end of the dirt road,
is good enough for me.
Dead end of the dirt road’s
where you can bury me.
