Biography
K, Ray and The Bird’ is an adult-contemporary band from Cape Town, South Africa. The band started out as a trio: Gareth Asch on guitar and vocals, Rae Swart on keyboards, saxophone, clarinet and vocals, and Karyn Stuart on bass guitar and vocals. In December 2008 the band had their first gig, and has continued to perform regularly in and around Cape Town since then. In April 2009 they released their first album, ‘Waiting for Harmony’. Emil Terhoven joined on drums and percussion and towards the end of that same year Mark Cloete joined on keys and violin, completing the current lineup.

In May 2011 the band released their second album, ‘Rhymes in the Attic’. Since then they have travelled around South Africa promoting the album and performing live.
