Fly Away
Fly Away
It’s your first year of high school and they’ve knocked you to the ground
With words that cut like broken glass and hit you when you’re down
They say that you are ugly they say that you are fat
They call you names and whisper ugly things behind your back

Sometimes you wish you could fly away
Sometimes you just pray that you could wish away the pain
Sometimes it seems as though the world has stripped you bare
And left you hanging by a thread with no one there to care

The teacher’s they all say to you that you just have to try
That sticks and stones can break your bones and words can’t make you cry
But words they fly like arrows and they cut you to the heart
Til’ your broken and your bleeding and you don’t know where to start

Sometimes you wish you could fly away
Sometimes you just pray that you could wish away the pain
Sometimes it seems as though the world has stripped you bare
And left you hanging by a thread with no one there to care

So you tell yourself that its alright and that you don’t really care
You walk through halls in silence as they whisper and they stare
And if you could you’d walk away where no one knows your face
To another life in another world in some other time and place

Sometimes you wish you could fly away
Sometimes you just pray that you could wish away the pain
Sometimes it seems as though the world has stripped you bare
And left you hanging by a thread with no one there to care
