5. REVERSAL
Reversal

I feel myself falling down into the dark
Feel the waves crashing the circling of sharks
Is this the path we’re given, murder and deceit?
Will it be delivered this true humility?
Humility . . .

We all long for reversal when the time has come
For the wrongs that we have written and all that’s left undone
And when our prayers for mercy are not to be enough
We must stand for our reversal for the truth is written
In muscle and bone

They traveled from the east where millions met their fate
In the belly of the beast, the yellow the Star of David
Grandfather Grandfather you walked in rags of wool
Your family taken from you each and every one
In the tinted photograph of a war torn country road
You walked across all Europe so very far from home
How long will there be fighting, why must we stand or fall?
Yes they took you with a snarl and a darkness of the soul
Humility . . .

We all long for reversal when the time has come
For the wrongs that we have written, all that’s left undone
And when our prayers for mercy are not to be enough
We must stand for our reversal for the truth is written
In muscle and bone

Warsaw my Grandmother and the snows of Ukraine
Here you came for freedom and for those that lost their name
Feel my heart my weeping for the beast that knows no shame
Yes we will remember lest the darkness returns again and again and again

I feel myself sinking along with the last light
I feel the earth upon my face darkening the darkest night
If the road we have taken is bloodthirsty and complete
Then it must be delivered this true humility
Humility . . .

We all long for reversal when the time has come
For the wrongs that we have written and all that’s left undone
And when our prayers for mercy are not to be enough
We must stand for our reversal for the truth is written
In muscle and bone

Humility . . .
