The County Fair
THE COUNTY FAIR

Tonight an orange harvest moon
Tomorrow a sunny autumn afternoon
Let's take a ride up state road 6
To the country out in the sticks
We'll leave the city limits behind
Drive until we see that sign
The one that says "you're almost there
Just a half mile to the county fair"

A corn dog apple cider and fried dough
A Belgian waffle and a cup of jo
When we're done and our belies are full
We'll wander over to the tractor pull
Where the smell of horses and barbecue
Port o san and diesel fumes
Mix and mingle in the air
Where else but at the county fair
It could only happen at the county fair

We'll hear cows a-mooing the baying of an ****
Shameless goats passing gas
In the shed they'll be shearing sheep
Pudgy pink piglets fast asleep
Mama hens laying eggs
Baby Llamas stretching their legs
We'll feed the ducks pet a hare
Meeting all the critters at the county fair
It could only happen at the county fair

{bridge}
It rained last night so don't forget your boots
The sod is soaked down to the roots
Some spots ankle deep in muck
Some of those trailers are gonna get stuck

We'll see tanned young fellas in sleeveless shirts
Flirting with the pretty girls in miniskirts
Grandmas, Grandpas, fathers and sons
Democrats and Republicans
Tall ones short ones boy scout troops
4 H clubs and civic groups
Everyone from everywhere
They're all going to the county fair
Everybody's going to the county fair
