"A Fine Place to Start" is about the place I grew up in eastern Pennsylvania. A place of streams, ponds, corn fields, playgrounds, and open space. I could run through fields of open grass until I could run no more. I could stay out late without fear of crime. I could catch fish, turtles, snakes, bugs, anything that moved. There is little than remains today of the fields I once ran through. The ponds are still there, but it seems no one fishes there anymore. The streams still run, and to the eye seem clean but who knows. There still are fish in the stream, but nothing like it once was.
