Where the Grassroots Grow
Where the Grassroots Grow is dedicated to Beth Brown Boettner, who founded the Austin, Texas recycling program and was a cherished activist in her community. When encouraged to run for office, she refused, noting she'd rather someday be "the old lady in tennis shoes who gets things done." Because Beth died in her mid-40's, she didn't become an old lady, but she left an empowering legacy behind her.
