Biography
Clarence Willis joined The Ohio Players in the mid 1970s and was nicknamed “Chet” by the group. Clarence has played, sung, written and produced on several gold and platinum-selling recordings by The Ohio Players. The work he has done with the band can be heard on radio, television and in film. He and his family moved from Dayton, OH and relocated to Atlanta, GA in 2000. For Clarence, a new life had begun.

Not long after relocating and back in Ohio visiting family for the holidays, he overheard a conversation that caught his attention. A young teenager addressed his nephew Jerald (Willis) as J-Dub. Clarence thought to himself “That’s sort of catchy. I guess that makes me C-Dub. I can use that!” The C-Dub Project was born.

A few years later in 2007, Clarence’s longtime friend and frequent songwriting partner Harry “HarryO” McLoud moved to the ATL from Dayton with his family. Now that they were living in the nation’s hotbed for today’s Hip Hop culture, it became the plan of these two songwriters to rely upon their favorite influences dating back to the 60s up to the present. They wanted to write and record music that when first heard would make you feel “that special something” you knew you haven’t felt in a long, long time. Ah-h-h, the wonderful advantage of being older than Hip Hop…

It didn’t take long at all for the duo to once again blend their musical ideas and interpretations into an ever-growing catalog of songs – complete with beautiful and (often) haunting melodies strewn throughout the eclectic, entertaining array of songs on their debut CD.

This is “New Music for the Old School audience”. Cool, smooth and groovin’ is how the music makes you feel. Whether wanting to get your dance on, chill out and relax, or just grab our CD and “go for a ride”, this music is right for all that and much more.

The future for The C-Dub project is bright and filled with opportunity. Willis and McLoud plan on writing and producing more music for themselves and other artists as well; they also plan to venture into creating music for both television and film. Their mission is to produce music that satisfies the hunger many of us have - to not only hear but feel some real good music once again…

"Radio Creds" are votes awarded to artists by radio programmers who have downloaded their music and have been impressed with the artist's professionalism and the audience's response to the new music. Creds help artists advance through the AirPlay Direct community.

Only radio accounts may add a Radio Cred. One week after the track has been downloaded the radio account member will receive an email requesting a Cred for each artist they've downloaded.
