I’m a fan of Sonny Boy Williamson. I love "One Way Out". It inspired the foundation for this tune. It sounds nothing like it, and that’s good. I’d be a fool to try and capture that! This is a fun dance tune, kinda self-indulgent. I love watching people dance at my shows, having fun. The lyrics tell that story. The words were written quickly, and I gave it a good musical workout at the Sunday Blues jam at the Port Arthur Legion Branch #5 in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada. I used to host it, with our Sunday night band "The Branch 5 Five" - me, Jamie Steinhoff, Arden Bruyere, Ed Mylnarski, and Daniel or Jamie Mroz. It became an instant hit at our Blue Thunder gigs, where Kelly Ashe (guitar), Arden Bruyere (bass) and Stu Green (drums) put some polish on it. On this recording, Len Milne (Bedside Studio) took it to a whole new level, as did the top notch players. Who could ask for more? Jason Nowicki of Perpetrator’s fame on guitar, Vaughan Poyser of my Right Hand Band on bass, Leonard 'Lewsh' Shaw of the Guess Who and the Ministers of Cool pulling double duty on keys and horns, and Gorgeous George 'Duke' Demeduk on drums - wow!
