Finally Your Turn
Hello, my friend, it's just me again - the one who never learned
to take the time when time was all I had
And no, my friend, I won't pretend that I haven't been concerned
with little things that crowded up my past
And these leaves outside my window on this cold October day
Might have something meaningful to say
Well it's time for my first lesson, and Finally Your Turn
to show me what in books I've never learned
Do you think it's time I turned my eyes to thd color of your sky
Always here but seldom on my mind?
You promised me if I returned that you'd teach me how to fly
To soar these hills that I could never climb
And this rain outside my window on this lonely autumn night
Might hold some direction to the light
Well it's time for my first lesson, and Finally Your Turn
to show me what in love I've never learned
And this sun that always rises, and warms me with its rays
Might have something meaningful to say
Well it's time for my first lesson, and Finally Your Turn
to show me what in life I haven't learned
I've asked the rest and it's Finally Your Turn
