“FAITH MIGHTY FAITH” DEBUTS ON RADIO TODAY

Rochester, Minnesota (March 1, 2017) - “Faith Mighty Faith,” a new single from The Olsons, debuts on Christian Country radio today.

“‘Faith Mighty Faith’ celebrates a fundamental aspect of being a Christian,” says Ken Olson, guitarist and vocalist for The Olsons. “The lyrics come from Charles Wesley, the great Methodist hymnwriter. The song has been the de facto theme song for Wycliffe Bible Translators since the early days of the organization.”

Ken penned new music for the song. “The old melody was a march-like melody. I liked it, but I wanted to contribute something more contemporary. I was on my way to a Wycliffe meeting where I was about to lead a group in singing the original version. Suddenly the new melody came, almost instantly. I hurried to my office, grabbed a blank sheet of paper and scribbled down the melody I heard in my head. I left the paper on the desk and went to the meeting. Afterwards, I couldn’t remember the new melody, and I was afraid I had lost it. But when I got back to the office and looked at the page again, it came back. I was very glad!”

Not only does the song have an international theme, it is also an international production. The Olsons recorded the vocals in Aix-en-Provence, France. Then co-producer Terry Franklin worked with top musicians and engineers in Nashville to bring it all together.

“Nearly 2000 languages around the world do not yet have a single verse of Scripture, says Ken. “We’re praying that God uses ‘Faith Mighty Faith’ to inspire the church to even greater involvement in bringing the Word of God to the Bibleless peoples of the world.”
