A Concept - Storybook Album in Country Music?

The songs on this CD take you through the whole experience from being attracted to someone where you first meet someone and you just can’t wait to sneak away with her in your truck and maybe you’ll just get stuck in the mud in “Little Thing Called Love (Track #1),” onto where he’s beginning to see that “Forever by Your Side” (Track #2) could be a good thing. (Track #3) "You Take My Breath Away," where every time he sees her, he feels like the breath was just knocked out of him. In (Track #4) "Lonesome," Doug writes, "Lonesome, stay through the night, lay by my side, we'll keep each other warm, I hold you tight." In "Good Morning Beautiful" (Track #5) he just can’t help but say “Good Morning Beautiful, there’s no place I need to go." In (Track #6) "Without You To Hold," there's the realization that without her to hold, life can be lonesome.(Track #7) "I Believe", sends a powerful message that even though he realizes she doesn't believe in fairy tales anymore, he still believes in their love.

“The Nightmare Song” (Track #8) is where he wakes up from a nightmare that she’s left him only to realize it was just a bad dream, it was all inside his head, and she tells him to "come on back to bed." (Track #9) "Habits and Hearts" is the turning point of the CD, a powerful waltz detailing how those "moments of cheating and the late nights of drinkin" put them both under! After such a powerful and emotional number, the song “Jim” (Track #10) brings a little fun back to a little fun back to the project as he has a conversation with a bottle of Jim Beam Whiskey, telling him (the bottle) that he won’t convince him to go knock on her door again and bring her flowers, because last night ended so poorly, and he's not sure they can be friends anymore! In (Track #11) You Don't Need To Call Me," Doug brings the project around nicely with the lyric "if you can't tell me that you love me, you don't need to call me" because it just hurts too much! The story finishes with a real upbeat number (Track #12) "Houston." In Houston, there's the realization of his loss. He believes that maybe if he asked NASA to help, then he could certainly find her, because "theyre finding things in space all the time!" And "if you would help me find her," he's sure he could keep her this time!
