Biography
“One-Take Jake is an all-acoustic album featuring brand new acoustic recordings of some of my older songs, along with some new tunes, and a few covers. Each song was tracked "in one”; vocals and guitar recorded together with no other instruments and no overdubs. I wanted to record an album that was a good representation of what I do live, and for better or worse, this is that album. There are mistakes, and I claim every one of them. But I’ll feel better letting you hear them than I would trying to hide them from you. Such is life.” - Jacob Johnson

Biography
Jacob Johnson is a young, energetic performer and SC native who has shared stages with songwriting masters from Edwin McCain to David Wilcox, and hangs out with guitar heroes like Tommy Emmanuel and Phil Keaggy (who opened for Johnson one fabled night in Knoxville). While it’s his flashy guitar pyrotechnics that might grab your attention, his songwriting, personality, and performance style are what set him apart from the rest of the pack of other young guitar-slingers. In short, to quote Tommy Emmanuel, "Jacob rocks!"

"Johnson sounds like Norman Rockwell paintings and the open road. He is a virtuoso, expressing a working comprehension of dozens of techniques and styles. He has blended and blurred the lines of genres to craft a sound he calls 'Neo-Acoustic Folk/Funk'."
