The Best of the Dog Run Boys
From 1979 to 2000, The Dog Run Boys were the most influential modern bluegrass band in western Pennsylvania. During that time, they released three critically-acclaimed albums and CDs that highlighted strong original songwriting, stellar singing and a distinct sound.
Sugar Babe Records has released The Best of The Dog Run Boys, a digital release only, which includes 16 tracks from every recording, including a previously unreleased Live In Studio recording and The Dog Run Boys version of their orginal song, "Blue Ridge" which became a bluegrass hit for the collaborative album the Jonathan Edwards released with The Seldom Scene.
The Best of the Dog Run Boys
The Dog Run Boys based out of Pittsburgh established a national reputation for their original modern bluegrass sound based on original writing and picking.
Form 1979 to 2000 The Dog Run Boys released three critically acclaimed albums, "Unleashed" 1980, "Profiles" 1983 and "Fresh Tracks" 1997. Many original Dog Run Boys songs have been recorded by other artists including Jonathan Edwards and The Seldom Scene collaboration where the title track, "Blue Ridge was written by Dog Run Boys, Bob Artis and Rick Malis.
This digital release features 16 tracks from the band including a tune that was never released called, "Living on the Bottom Line".
