Biography
The Barrel Jumpers is a Contemporary Folk band with a Bluegrass/roots music feel. With the completion of their first studio album which was recorded and engineered by legendary producer Bil VornDick, the band has created a sound that draws from their modern musical surroundings while still staying true to their love of traditional roots music.

After performing for many years in their native Idaho, siblings Rachel and Jeremy Johnson moved to Nashville in 2006 to pursue careers in country music. Within one week of moving to town, a neighbor handed them a copy of Gillian Welch's debut album "Revival", which quickly drew them into the Americana scene. Over the next three years, their music was formed and shaped by the new sounds they were hearing. In the summer of 2009, they met mandolin player Robert Phaneuf, a transplant from the west coast. Upon discovering the many common interests that the three of them shared, the group set out to lay the foundation for what was to become The Barrel Jumpers. They completed their ensemble with the addition of bassist Bill Baldock in the fall of 2011.

The band completed their first studio album in July of 2012. It was co-produced by Bronson Herrmuth and Bil VornDick, the multi-Grammy award-winning producer who has worked with Alison Krauss, Ralph Stanley, Bob Dylan and many others. Utilizing a unique blend of harmonies and melodic styles, the album creates a listening experience that is sure to be enjoyed by all audiences.
